Who it's for

Energy & Utilities

Induction for high-hazard, high-stakes sites.

Live plant, restricted zones, permit-to-work everywhere. Inductio guides every new starter and contractor through the site that matters — and proves they understood the rules before they reached the hazard.

The problem

What induction looks like today.

01

Contractors arrive faster than you can brief them

Maintenance shutdowns and outages bring in waves of contractors who've never set foot on site. They sign the visitor book, get a five-minute talk, and are working next to live plant by mid-morning. The induction that's supposed to protect them is the first thing the schedule squeezes.

02

A signed form is not understanding

Permit-to-work, lock-out/tag-out, confined-space and isolation rules don't mean anything as a signature on an arrival sheet. When something goes wrong, 'they were inducted' has to mean they knew the rule for that zone — not that they ticked a box at the gate.

03

No proof of who knew what, where

On a site with this much regulatory weight, an attendance log isn't enough. You need to show that a specific person, at a specific turbine, substation, or chemical dosing area, was asked the right question and answered it — and right now you can't.

Why this sector

Built for the way energy sites actually run

An energy site isn't one hazard — it's a different regime in every area. The isolation rules at the HV switchroom aren't the rules at the chemical dosing plant. Confined-space awareness belongs at the wet wells, arc-flash awareness at the substation, working-at-height at the turbine bases. A classroom induction flattens all of that into slides nobody remembers by the time they're standing at the hazard. Inductio puts each requirement back where it applies and checks understanding while the new starter is actually there.

That matters most for the contractors and agency crews who arrive for outages and shutdowns. Because Inductio runs on WhatsApp with no accounts or app, a contractor can complete the same permit-aware induction to the same standard as your permanent team — before they're cleared to work. The record it produces shows who was inducted, at which zone, what they were asked, and how they answered, in a format you can hand to an auditor, an inspector, or your own safety case without a day of preparation.

How Inductio works on a energy site

A guided walk through every stop. Verified at every step.

  1. 01

They get a WhatsApp link before they arrive

No app to install. No account to create. Just a link, a start code, and a meeting point at the gate — the same for permanent staff, contractors, and agency crews.

  2. 02

The guide takes them through each zone

The AI guide narrates the route — switchroom, dosing plant, turbine hall, control room — and tells them exactly where to go next. At each zone, the relevant safety lead or permit issuer is automatically pinged.

  3. 03

    Zone-specific H&S questions, logged

Before the HV area: an isolation question. Before a confined space: an entry-permit question. Natural language answers — no exact keywords required. Every answer is scored and timestamped.

  4. 04

    Location challenges confirm presence

After each stop, the group completes a challenge that can only be done standing there — reading an asset tag, locating the isolation point. Presence is verified, not assumed.

  5. 05

A completion record for every starter

At the end, each person receives a branded completion card with their name, H&S score, time, and every zone visited — and your team gets the exportable compliance log.

How Inductio helps

What induction looks like with Inductio.

Live oversight for your admin team

Active groups, current zone, time elapsed — one dashboard shows every run as it happens, including the contractors on site for an outage.

Safety leads and permit issuers pinged automatically

The right person is notified as each group approaches their zone, and confirmed when they meet. Real introductions before anyone reaches live plant.

A compliance log that holds up

Full question, answer, score, and timestamp for every run. One export covers what an auditor, an inspector, or your safety case needs to see.

Common questions

Questions from energy & utilities teams.

Does Inductio replace our classroom H&S induction?

It replaces the site walk and the zone-specific briefing — the part that's hardest to standardise and the part contractors most often skip. Many sites keep a short classroom or e-learning module for policy and permit theory, and use Inductio for everything that depends on being physically at the hazard. Together they cover what a signature at the gate never did.

How do we induct contractors and agency crews for an outage?

The same way as permanent staff. Inductio runs on WhatsApp, so there are no accounts to create, no app to install, and no IT involvement. A contractor gets a link and a start code, completes the same permit-aware route to the same standard before being cleared to work, and appears in the same compliance log.

Can questions be specific to HV, confined-space, and isolation zones?

Yes — that's the core of the product. Questions are attached to locations, not to a generic bank. The switchroom asks about your isolation and arc-flash rules; the wet well asks about your confined-space entry permit; the dosing plant asks about your substances and spill procedure. We write them with your safety team during setup.

Is the record sufficient evidence for a regulator or our safety case?

Every run produces a timestamped log of who was inducted, which zones they visited, what they were asked, what they answered, and how they scored — exportable on demand. It evidences understanding rather than attendance, which is a stronger position in front of an inspector than a signed sheet.

How long does it take to go live on an energy site?

Your first starters can usually be inducted within a fortnight of kickoff. There is no software for your team to install or configure; the time goes into developing the route, the zone questions, and the host and permit-issuer list with your safety team, so the pace is set by their availability rather than ours.

Inductio also runs on manufacturing & logistics and ports & large estates sites.
