The problem

What induction looks like today.

01

Sites change faster than your induction materials

By the time you've updated the induction pack, the site has moved on again. Static materials can't keep pace with a live project.

02

Large intakes with no time to brief them properly

Project surges mean large groups arriving at once. Running proper induction for all of them at the same time isn't realistic.

03

Subcontractors aren't your employees

You still need them inducted to your standard. Getting them through a proper process — and evidencing it — is harder than it should be.

Why this sector

Built for sites that look different every month

Under CDM 2015, every worker on a construction site needs a suitable site-specific induction — including the subcontractor who arrives mid-project for a fortnight's work. In practice that induction is a cabin briefing whose content drifts out of date as the programme moves: the scaffold comes down, the traffic management plan changes, the welfare units relocate. Inductio's routes are configuration, not print runs — when the site changes, the route and the questions change with it, in minutes.

The same applies to events venues running a build-up, show days, and a tear-down on compressed timelines with a workforce that's mostly not yours. Because the induction runs on WhatsApp, a subcontractor or crew member can complete it with nothing but a link and a start code — no accounts, no app, no badge office queue — and your record shows each of them walked the live areas, answered the RAMS-relevant questions for each zone, and did it before they started work.

How Inductio works on a construction site

A guided walk through every stop. Verified at every step.

  1. 01

They get a WhatsApp link before they arrive

Works for direct employees, subcontractors, and event crew alike — a link and a start code, no accounts or apps. Induction can be a gate condition, completed before day one.

  2. 02

The guide takes them through the live site

The AI guide narrates the current route — site office, scaffold zones, plant yard, welfare unit — and pings the right person at each stop. When the site changes, the route is updated in minutes.

  3. 03

Zone-specific questions tied to your RAMS

PPE at the gate, exclusion zones at the crane, permit rules in the plant yard. Questions reflect your current method statements — answered in natural language, scored, and timestamped.

  4. 04

    Location challenges confirm presence

Each stop ends with a task only possible on the spot — reading the scaffold tag, photographing the fire point. You know they walked the site, not just signed the book.

  5. 05

A completion record for every worker

Each worker receives a branded completion card; your log records name, score, time, and every zone visited. Evidence for the principal contractor file, generated automatically.

How Inductio helps

What induction looks like with Inductio.

Routes update as the site evolves

Stages are configurable. When a section of the site changes, update the route — not a whole new document. Live in minutes.

Runs in parallel for large intakes

Multiple groups can run simultaneously. Each one gets the same experience, the same questions, and their own completion record.

Works for subcontractors too

Anyone with WhatsApp can run an induction. No accounts, no app, no IT setup. A link and a start code is all they need.

Common questions

Questions from construction & events teams.

Does Inductio satisfy the CDM 2015 site-specific induction requirement?

It delivers and evidences a site-specific induction: the worker walks the actual site, receives the current site rules zone by zone, and answers questions tied to your RAMS — all logged with timestamps. Your CDM advisor confirms scope for your project, but the evidential record is substantially stronger than a signed cabin-briefing register.

How fast can the route be updated when the site changes?

Minutes. Stops, narratives, and questions are configuration, not documents — when the scaffold comes down or traffic management changes, you update the affected stage and every induction from that moment reflects it. No reprinting, no out-of-date packs in circulation.

How do subcontractors complete it without accounts or apps?

Everything runs in WhatsApp. A subcontractor gets a link and a start code — from you or their employer — and completes the full route on their own phone. No app store, no badge office queue, no IT involvement. Their record appears in your log alongside direct employees.

Can we induct a large intake — say 40 people on a Monday morning?

Yes. Runs execute in parallel, so groups can start at intervals or simultaneously from different points. Each group is guided independently and each worker gets an individual record. The bottleneck becomes your physical site capacity, not your induction staff.

Does it work for event venues with build-up and tear-down phases?

Well-suited — venues run different routes per phase: a build-up induction for contractors, a show-day version for event staff, a tear-down route with its own hazards. Same venue, three configurations, separate records for each phase and crew.

What does the principal contractor actually get as evidence?

A per-worker log: who completed induction, when, which zones they physically visited, what they were asked in each, and how they answered — exportable for the project file. If the HSE visits after an incident, you can show the worker stood at that exclusion zone and answered the relevant question correctly.

Inductio also runs on ports & large estates and universities & freshers week sites.
